Marco Stradiotto, driver at Canil S.p.A. in Bessica di Loria, is the winner of the Driver of the Year Award 2023. This award presented on Tuesday, 19 September 2023 by Transporeon, a renowned global transport management platform for shippers, forwarders and carriers with headquarters in Ulm in Germany and 18 offices worldwide with 1,400 employees, celebrates excellence in the transport sector. Accompanying Marco Stradiotto at the award ceremony was Canil sales manager Manuela Baggio.
Canil, a leading company for over forty years in the international transport of liquid chemical products, has found in Marco Stradiotto a pillar of inestimable value. His dedication and expertise in ensuring efficiency and safety in the handling of liquid chemical products have been rewarded with this prestigious award.
Marco Stradiotto started working at the age of 21, accruing 34 years of service at Canil to date, becoming an experienced, responsible and diligent driver, a point of reference for management, the logistics department and colleagues.
He is a BBS (Behaviour Based Safety) certified in-house instructor, in charge of training new drivers, promoting safety, order and cleanliness in vehicles. Over the years, he pioneered the first trips to Eastern Europe and witnessed the geopolitical change in Europe, from the fall of the Berlin Wall to the division of Czechoslovakia and the Balkans, also dealing with difficult borders and effectively dialoguing with the police. Over the years, he has also developed mechanical skills that have enabled him to deal with sudden breakdowns to ensure the continuity of journeys. He is considered highly reliable, as witnessed by the rare road accidents he has been involved in, which he has never caused.
